Tennessee Blizzard 2010: Day 1

So, when the weatherman said there was a winter storm coming, John and I decided to pack up the kids and head out to west Tennessee to visit his family! We were so sure that the news was wrong, 6-9 inches of snow in TN? That just doesn't happen! Sure we expected 1 or 2 inches at the most, but that wouldn't impede on our plans.
Can you believe it did snow like crazy?!? Now in Spring Hill, we hear they got 4-5 inches of snow, but out in Covington/Munford, we got 8-10 inches of snow! That is almost a foot of snow people....in TENNESSEE!
Now, all my family from up North are thinking, 'Ok, what is the big deal?'. The big deal is that nobody knows how to cope with all this snow here. It completely shut down the state for about 2 days! But here we are 3 days later, heading back to Spring Hill.
Here are some pictures from Friday, the actual day of the snow. We started the day out at Paw-paws house. It snowed 4 inches in about 2 hours! It came down so fast, but that didn't stop Cailyn and Lanah from getting out in the blizzard!

Daddy ventured out in the snow with Cailyn too! (Mommy had to stay inside to take care of Anslie) :-) At this point, the snowflakes were very big and flakey!
It was not the type of snow to make snowmen.

It was good snow to eat!

Then, after the snow slowed down, we ventured out to Grandmother's house. Yes, the roads were horrible, but we didn't drive all the way here not to go visit!

Cailyn had a blast being pulled by Uncle Chip on the sled that he and John used as kids!

By the end of the day, John measured 8+ inches at his dad's house!
Maybe next time we will believe the weatherman!
